Father John Finley once again presided over this special ceremony at Lucas & Lewellen Vineyards Winery warehouse in Buellton on August 25. The winery which has estate vineyards in the Los Alamos, Santa Maria and Santa Ynez valleys hold the blessing for the winery team each year as the first grapes of the harvest are brought into the winery.
The blessing ceremony was followed by a champagne toast, a casual taco lunch, and the chance to spend some time with owners, managers, winery crew, corporate teams, tasting room team, and the vineyard just before crush.
The first grapes that were harvested for Lucas & Lewellen Vineyards were Gewürztraminer and Pinot Grigio.
