People who want to surprise loved ones for Valentine’s Day can consider “hiring” the Santa Ynez Valley Master Chorale to sing for them on Sunday, Feb. 11, and Wednesday, Feb. 14.

Chorale members are ready to a sweetheart, mother, father, grandmother, grandfather, or any other special person within the Santa Ynez Valley.

Singers will come to homes, workplaces, nursing homes or the hospital. In addition, members of the chorale’s Youth Ensemble will serenade people over the phone.

The cost is $50 for a three-song serenade and a gift of Hershey’s chocolate kisses. The event is a fundraiser for the chorale, a non-profit organization.

Singing Valentines can be “delivered” from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 11, and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14. The deadline to reserve a time slot for the singers is 5 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13. Make a reservation online at www.syvchorale.org or call 805-688-4565.

“This group is full of people who just love to sing. During December the Chorale performed two concerts with an orchestra, sang at the Elverhoj Museum holiday party, performed at the Founder’s Day event at La Purisima Mission and serenaded a group of fire fighters taking a break from fighting the Thomas Fire,” said Chorale President Shannon Casey. “A singing Valentine provides a truly memorable gift from you to share with your loved ones on this special day.”
