Staff Report

Elverhøj Museum of History & Art will welcome four central coast children’s book authors for “Adventures in Storytelling,” Saturday, Jan. 26 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.. All are welcome at this free event though activities will be geared towards children ages 3-10.

Each author will read their book aloud and answer questions. Craft stations and activities to complement each story will be set up throughout the event. The fun begins at 10 a.m. with Patricia Eubank reading Natalia’s Favorite Color, a collaborative book illustrated by Eubank and written by her daughter Rosanna, in which a little girl explores all types of colors. Next, at 10:30 am, Grady Hall will read his fun, nature-themed book On the Trail with Seymour the Snail.

At 11 a.m. Robert Byrne will read his newly published book Like Mother Like Daughter, a tale about a girl staying true to herself. The fourth author, Ayn Cates Sullivan, will read an excerpt at 11:30 a.m. from her book Sparkle and the Gift, an uplifting story about finding your inner light. The books all share a sense of adventure and positive messages about how we treat ourselves and others.

Activities include a nature scavenger hunt, rainbow color wheel craft, butterfly paper mosaic craft, and a special coloring station.  A Plus-Plus makers station, with interactive building blocks, offers a fun and creative activity with a special take-home gift while supplies last.  Delicious baked goods, provided by National Charity League, will be available. Guests are invited to bring lunch and picnic in the garden or gazebo.
