Highway 101 southbound closed at Santa Rosa Road in Buellton

Highways 101 southbound was closed around 10 a.m. Thursday morning due to a single-vehicle accident at the three bridges just south of Buellton. 

Traffic scanners said a male occupant was trapped in his vehicle and hanging off the side of the freeway. CalStar was called and the highway was shut down. It will be shut down for at least another hour according to local officials. 

Highway 1 at Highway 246 in Lompoc was also closed due to a Fuell spill according to local officials. 

People are being diverted to Highway 154 to get to Santa Barbara and further south.
