Highway 154 is being shut down due to a vegetation fire called the Cave Fire that sparked at about 4:15 p.m. near Painted Cave and East Camino Cielo, according to fire officials. 

Firefighters from Santa Barbara County Fire and Los Padres National Forest are en route and on scene to assist and according to scanner traffic they requested night flying helicopters and air attack. 

 According to Cpt. Daniel Bertucelli, SBC Fire, he added there is no acreage estimated yet or containment, and he will continue to update information. 

There are evacuations ordered for Highway 154 east to Ontare Road from Foothill up to the top of the Camino. Evacuation warnings are for 154 west to Fiarview and Ontare East to Gibraltar.
