Oil painter and illustrator Keith Batcheller will be the featured artist in the final show of Solvang Antiques’ Summer Art Series.

He will attend a champagne reception from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sept. 18 and give a painting demonstration, and his work will be on display until Oct. 13.

For more than 30 years, Batcheller worked nationally for major companies, creating designs and paintings for advertising, publishing and the movie industry. His clients have included the NFL, United States Air Force, Mattel Toys, Franklin Mint, Knotts, and Coca Cola. He has also done more than 50 movie posters for Walt Disney Studios.

A native of Southern California, he graduated with honors from Art Center College of Design and began his career in New York City as an illustrator. As a representative of the Society of Illustrators, Batcheller has done paintings for the Air Force Art Collection, some of which have been displayed in the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum as well as at the Pentagon.

Batcheller has always had a keen interest in Western art, the history of the Old West and Native American people. He loves painting wildlife and landscapes that tell a story and convey a strong sense of emotion. He has been honored with many accolades and awards in his career.
