Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Deputies are looking for an alleged robber, after the Rabobank in the 1500 block of Mission Drive in Solvang reported the crime at 11:40 a.m. on Thursday.

“It doesn’t appear the robber had a weapon, however deputies are actively searching for a suspect,” said Kelly Hoover, public information officer for the Sheriff’s Department.

The suspect is described as a caucasian male in his 30’s, standing at approximately 5’8′ tall and a thin build. He has blue or green eyes and wearing a black long sleeve shirt with aliens on the sleeves. He was also wearing white jeans and an Under Armor hat. He was last seen running on foot northbound, Hoover added.

Solvang Elementary School was placed on a brief lockdown, and it was lifted. No children were on campus as they are out for summer break.

He took an undisclosed amount of money and was last seen running northbound on foot. The Sheriff’s have their K-9 units, deputies and air support looking for him, Hoover said.
