Staff Report

The TSA Pre✓ IndentoGo Mobile RV is returning to Santa Barbara Airport (SBA). TSA Pre✓ is an expedited screening program that enables identified low-risk air travelers to go through an efficient screening experience.

The Mobile Enrollment Center will be in front of the airport’s historic terminal 9 a.m.-5 p.m. daily June 24-28 and July 1-3. Travelers are urged to make an appointment in advance at universalenroll.dhs.gov to assure immediate service.

The onsite process requires fingerprinting, proof of citizenship with a photo ID, and payment of an $85 application fee, good for five years.

The TSA Pre✓ application program allows U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents to directly apply for TSA Pre✓.

Once approved, travelers will receive a Known Traveler Number (which can be added to a travelers airline profile and reservations) and will have the opportunity to utilize TSA Pre✓ lanes at select security checkpoints when flying on over 50 carriers that currently participate in TSA Pre✓.

For TSA Pre✓ travelers, there is no need to remove shoes, 3-1-1 liquids, laptops, light outerwear or belts. Currently, TSA Pre✓ has more than 450 lanes at some 200 U.S. airports.

“Although TSA security wait times at SBA are pretty short, the TSA Pre✓ benefits really make a difference when traveling back through larger airports,” said airport director Henry Thompson.

“It’s a program we highly recommend for added travel ease and convenience,” he said.

SBA is offering the TSA Pre✓ IndentoGO mobile unit as a community service and does not collect any portion of the application fees.
