Staff Report

The Wildling Museum of Art and Nature is pleased to announce Holiday Family Day, taking place Saturday, December 7, 2019 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Wildling Museum. Watch the Wildling’s holiday float in Solvang’s annual Julefest Parade at 11 a.m., then visit the museum to meet our parade characters and enjoy an afternoon of special holiday activities suitable for the whole family.

Beginning at 1 p.m. families are invited to stop by for a special meet and greet photo opportunity with the Wildling Snow Queen, courtesy of Parties and Paint by Kate (www.partiesandpaintbykate.com), along with a polar bear. At 1:30 p.m. the Snow Queen will lead a winter-themed story time in the second floor Valley Oak gallery.

Holiday craft projects, including a guided ornament station will be available to visitors of all ages in the third floor Barbara Goodall Education Center from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Light holiday refreshments will be served in the museum lobby.

Please note that museum hours will be 12 – 5 p.m. on Saturday, December 7 due to parade street closures. Museum admission is free for Holiday Family Day.

About the Wildling Museum

The Wildling Museum of Art & Nature, where art and nature meet, offers visitors a unique perspective on the importance of preserving our natural heritage. Through the eyes of artists, and education and field experiences, guests can renew their relationship with the wilderness and understand its fragile nature – hopefully leaving more committed toward ensuring those spaces remain for future generations.

The Museum is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and on weekends from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (closed on Tuesdays). For more information, and to volunteer or join as a member to support this important local arts and nature institution, please visit www.wildlingmuseum.org.
