Staff Report

A trained facilitator will lead a free community workshop on Wednesday, Feb. 27, at Atterdag Village to guide conversations about end-of-life wishes and help people in completing advance health-care directives.

The session from 1 to 3 p.m. is being coordinated by Atterdag Village of Solvang and the Alliance for Living and Dying Well. Planning ahead for future medical needs is the best way to ensure that your wishes will be honored, organizers said.

After losing his mother at an early age to cancer and his father many years later after a debilitating accident, Atterdag Village’s Executive Director Chris Parker knows first-hand the importance of having one’s end-of-life wishes spelled out.

The workshop will take place at the Atterdag Village of Solvang Community Center, 636 Atterdag Road. To register, visit events.constantcontact.com/register/event?llr=7qchqhjab&oeidk=a07eg2n7bd530ae5e0d or call 805-688-3263.
